Kris Sundberg’s environmental track record began with her master’s degree in Environmental Science and continued as a leader in a number of environmental and renewable energy initiatives both as a corporate officer and as a consultant. She has been immersed in many aspects of the environmental arena including helping small, entrepreneurial companies develop and implement strong marketing, investor, customer and other public outreach plans; and working with environmental organizations to grow and further their mission.
During her career Kris has developed and managed communications during business growth, crisis situations, business acquisitions and divestitures, corporate restructurings, legislative threats and many more unique situations. Before establishing The Links Group in 2005, Ms. Sundberg served as a corporate officer and Senior Vice President at Information Resources; an Officer and Vice President at Supervalu, Inc., Fleming Companies, and U.S. Satellite Broadcasting; and Director at CenterPoint Energy/Minnegasco. Her responsibilities included planning and implementing all corporate communications to customers, employees, investors, legislators/regulators, media and the public.
Kris leveraged this corporate experience and launched her firm, The Links Group, in 2005 specializing in public outreach for environmentally based businesses. This outreach includes creating investor marketing programs to broaden funding options; marketing programs with high impact; public affairs programs that influence; media relations programs that achieve fair coverage; community outreach that gains support; and online advocacy that broadens the audiences. The companies and organizations include wind energy service and development companies; biofuel organizations and companies; alternative fuel companies; environmental clean-up initiatives; and several green initiatives.
Kris has also been active as a private citizen having been appointed to the Minnesota Racing Commission and the Minnesota Environmental Protection Agency Citizen Advisory Committee by the Minnesota Governor. She was appointed by Hennepin County and the Minnetonka Mayor to serve on two watershed organizations. Additionally, Kris has served on several non-profit Boards including several environmental organizations.
