A key member of the senior management team with almost 20 years of life science, IT and business development experience, Jacki directs all aspects of Lumira Capital’s information technology initiatives. With areas of responsibility that include financial analysis, industry intelligence, knowledge management, proactive sourcing of deals, collaboration and systems architecture, Jacki has developed a world class venture capital analytics platform to the benefit of our limited partners and entrepreneurs. She also leverages her life science and IT expertise by working closely with the investment team, performing industry research and analysis.
Located in our Toronto office, Jacki joined our firm in 2001. Prior to joining Lumira Capital, Jacki worked at Base4 and Open Text Inc. where she developed, sold and provided support for enterprise content management solutions targeted to the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry in North America and Europe.
Jacki earned a PhD in biochemistry and molecular biology from the University of Calgary, Alberta, followed by post-doctoral studies at the Montréal Neurological Institute and McGill University, both in Québec, where her research focused mainly on the genetic basis of disease involving the human mitochondrial genome. Jacki completed her BSc in cellular, molecular and microbial biology – also at the University of Calgary.
