Radio Personality for Cities 97

Brian "B.T." Turner began his media career in 1977 as a member of the US Air Force and the Armed Forces Radio and Television Service. He began his commercial radio career in 1980, working for jazz station KTWN-FM.

In 1984, he was on the original team that brought Cities 97 on the air, and worked there as Assistant Program Director, Music Director, and Announcer until 1987. Throughout the late 80's and early 90's he worked on creating new broadcast formats and programs. He was the first Program Director for Twin Cities based 'Radio Aahs', and in 1992 he co-founded Cargill Communications, Inc. with partner Jim Cargill.

In 1994, he co-created and managed Twin Cities radio station REV 105. He returned to Cities 97 in 1996, where he hosted the afternoon drive slot until December of 2000. Then he moved to morning drive. During his tenure at Cities 97, B.T. has interviewed hundreds of artists when they stopped by for live in-studio performances.

Throughout his career, B.T. Has been an active executive and talent in the radio and production industries, with experience in management, programming, sales, and marketing. In 1998, B.T. was diagnosed with a life-threatening cancer, and after extensive chemotherapy and surgeries, remains cancer-free to this day. B.T. lives in the New Hope area with his wife, two children, and his dog, Norton.
